Overview and detail shot per collage:
Collection of Collage works
This collection showcases my love for creating chaotic, colorful, layered collages using different materials. Inspired by graphic design icon David Carson's freeform style, I often use collaging to get out of my head and just start creating. It’s usually a random, messy process, but sometimes I end up liking how a piece comes together. These works are all about embracing the unexpected and letting creativity flow outside the lines. These pages are made using scraps from magazines, books, dried flowers, markers and tape.
Process:
I start by digging into old magazines, books, photo’s and I gather materials from them : torn magazine, photos, textures; anything that catches my eye. I also like using (dried) flowers as a material, adding an interesting touch and depth to the page. Collaging helps me get ideas down without overthinking it. I’ll keep adding stuff until a composition feels right or looks fun. David Carson’s chaotic style is a big influence, pushing me to embrace this style of messy graphic design.
